My entry for the 1000 Deviants, 1000 Cranes community project.

I used 1.5 X 1.5 inches ( 3.8 X 3.8 cm) origami paper. It is varnished for durability and some protection from moisture. I fold these cranes to make cute earrings.

The dead line is July 17 so you have a plenty of time to submit your photo of origami crane! The details can be found here --> [link]

It's a perfect size for making earrings  If you used to make them, then it won't take long to remember how to fold. :D

Oh, this is just as nice as your other entry! I love the pattern on your paper, it's so lovely, and the photograph has been taken really nicely- we can see how small the crane is as well. Thanks for two great entries!

Biggest paper-clip I have ever seen!

I make a mean paper plane but this is well beyond anything my severe lack of dexterity could ever muster.

It's beautiful

lol! You made me fall of my chair laughing so hard!

Ah, I don't do anything so complex, though. I just create something 'looks' complex. ;p

Japanese people make a 1000-crane ornament to wish for someone to recover from sickness, injury, or operation... to wish for someone to have good child birth, and for a healthy baby. Usually, friends or family members get together to fold 1000 cranes, and because you're thinking of this person, praying for him/her while you're folding them (it takes for a long time), this ornament would deliver those wishes and make it come true. :)

Thanks for dropping by, Suzi! :D I have a bunch of traditional printed rice paper (I buy them when I go to Japan) and fold those tiny cranes and varnish them for making earrings to give friends, kid's teachers, and other people I know. ;)

i used to do those a lot when i was younger. there was a time that i got so addicted that even bought a book of origami with lots of animals and different things to do. i donīt know if you have seen this: [link] but yours is really incredibly tiny as well. i tried to do one the other day but all i could do was one similar that moves the wings by pulling the tail. you can make it fly. great ability to do something like this! congratulations, itīs very cute and beautiful with the colors!

Some people can fold very tiny things with origami :D
Mine is not so small, though, but this is a perfect size for making earrings. I fold those miniature cranes, and I varnish them to give them pretty shiny look (also it brightens up the colors) and durability. They make very nice gifts. :)
Thank you for dropping by!
